LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Administration responds to "Glorious Rules of Rutgers"

Dear Editor, Peter Asebiomo, in his piece "The Glorious Rules of Rutgers," (Feb. 2 Observer) discusses a number of rules at Rutgers - Newark that he maintains cause inconvenience for students. In addressing Mr. Asebiomo's concerns, Chancellor Diner asks all students and members of our campus community to understand that rules and procedures are established for the greater good of the community, with the knowledge that such rules and procedures might cause occasional inconvenience to individuals.

THE GLORIOUS RULES OF RUTGERS

Stupid Rules make for important life lessons

By: PETER ASEBIOMO, CONTRIBUTING WRITER

According to the campus website Rutgers Newark has officially been in existence since 1948, but the law school dates back to 1908. Based on how refined and appropriate many of the policies are at the University it is not hard to believe it has been around this long.

SALINGER PASSES, BUT HOLDEN STILL SPEAKS

Students Remember Literature Legend

By: MERVE FEJZULA, NEWS EDITOR

I could begin this in so many different ways, but no matter how I start nothing seems to fit. On Friday, January 27, J.D. Salinger passed away. All the effusive and never-ending tributes and obituaries have put it so much better than I could. I'm at a loss for words, but then Mr.

RAIDERS BEAT BLOOD HOUNDS BY 40

By: MATT MAHAN OBSERVER STAFF WRITER

Rutgers-Newark was hot once again from beyond the arc, as they used a hail of early 3s to turn a game against John Jay into a laugher, 98-56 at home. TEAR IT TO THE GROUND

Demolishing a supermarket to build a slightly larger supermarket

By: KIERSTON PARKS OBSERVER STAFF WRITER

Every time I take a drive, whether it's to the next town over or to the opposite end of New Jersey, I see construction. If there isn't a bridge being reconditioned then there's a new Dunkin Donuts or supermarket being thrown up, usually in the blink of an eye.

STUDENT HISTORIAN ENTERS DEBATE

Conflict over Gaza protest continues

It is with not a little hesitation that I pen this response to the ongoing debate in the pages of the Rutgers Observer concerning the situation in Gaza. The fact of the matter is that while both sides have made legitimate points, Ms. Ramadan's retort, printed last issue, was not only historically inaccurate but at once particularly hostile and demeaning in its nature.
