SIMPLE ASSAULT
James Street
On Nov. 4, 37-year-old Newark resident Simont Scott punched his girlfriend in the face during an argument.

The woman booted her beau out of the car on James Street and then drove to RUPD to report the incident.

Upon interrogation, Scott admitted to the crime and was charged with simple assault. He was put in Essex County Jail on a bail of $5,000.


THEFT
Bleeker Street
Tahnesha McFadden, a 22-year-old student at R-N, reported her Panasonic car stereo head unit stolen from her 1988 Oldsmobile on Bleeker Street at 11:30 p.m. The perpetrators most likely entered her car through the rear passenger side window that she left open, police said. The stereo was valued at $150.


THEFT
University and Avenue and Raymond Boulevard
R-N staff member Ana Figuereo had her stereo and purse stolen from her '89 Honda Civic parked on the corner of University and Avenue and Raymond Boulevard in the afternoon of Nov. 3. Figuereo said she left her car window slightly ajar. The stolen items were valued at $125.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
Bleeker Street
Two youths were arrested for attempting to to break into a '99 Saturn SL in front of the residence halls on Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. One was 15-years old and the other was 16-years old. They were taken to the police station subsequent to their arrest.

Twenty-year-old Newark resident Darsell Davis picked the two juveniles up from the station but was turned over to the Essex County Sheriff's Department after a background check proved him to be a wanted person. Reasons to his wanted status were unspecified. The two juvenile offenders will attend juvenile court at a later date.


CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
MLK, Jr. Blvd.
On Nov. 6 at 6 a.m., Rachael Packer reported her driver's side door key hole of her '99 Audi A4 had been punched in. She had been visiting someone on campus and had left her car in front of the MLK, Jr. Blvd entrance to the Robeson Campus Center between the hours of 1 and 6 a.m.


THEFT
MLK, Jr. Blvd.
An R-N student reported her laptop stolen from the Rutgers Center for Law and Justice on Nov.6 at 8 p.m.

Olayinka Adenuga claims she stepped away from it for 15 minutes and upon her return it was gone. The computer was valued at $1,200.


CRIMINAL TRESPASS
MLK, Jr. Blvd.
Repeated offender Rodney Parks was arrested for walking around Robeson Campus Center after he had been banned from entering the building.

The homeless 55-year-old man has been arrested several times over the past year for crimes such as trespassing, burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, and petty theft. He has also been arrested countless times for failure to appear in court.
