Letter: R-N Smokers Can Smoke 'em Out
Letter to the Editor

The Rutgers-Newark Health community is participating in the Great American Smoke Out on Nov. 17.
The Smoke Out is a day for smokers to realize their control over smoking and to not smoke, or smoke less, for 24 hours.
The physical addiction to nicotine averages three days long, and this would allow for people to see that it is possible to quit smoking, and encourage them to continue in their cessation.
There will be opportunities for students to donate cigarettes for the day and retrieve them on Friday or instead receive small gifts from the Health Promotions Office.
There will be information available in Robeson Student Center and throughout campus. For more information you can contact Theresa Tantay-Wilson (Psychological and Counseling Services) at 973/353-1256, the NJ Help Quit Line at
1-866-NJSTOPS or visit the Rutgers Newark Health Center in Blumenthal (104).
