Kristina Lopez
Assumption College/Philippines
Sophomore Finance and Economics
Kristina Lopez played tennis for four years at
Assumption College in the Philippines where she was the team captain in her third and fourth year of high school. Lopez came to the US in August of 2003. She is currently in the Honors College and also on the Dean's List. In addition, she was named to the All-Conference New Jersey Athletic Conference team.
How does it feel to be named All-Conference team?
It feels really good. I have the whole team and our coach to thank for that. It is a great honor and it makes me want to work harder.
How do you feel about Coach Morris being named Coach of the Year?
I feel happy for him for he deserves it. It shows that all his hard work paid off.
What do you believe led the team to its best record in over a decade?
It is each and every single member of the tennis team. Every member is an asset to the team and all of us contributed to the success of finishing the season with an 11-1 record.
What can we expect from the team next year?
I don't really know what you can expect. The important thing for me is to have fun and try to reach our maximum potential. I hope that it will be as fun and memorable as this year was.
What sports do you play besides tennis?
I play golf. For fun, I play basketball, badminton and racquetball with my friends.
What are your plans after you finish your undergraduate studies?
I plan to go to graduate school and take my MBA in an Ivy League school as soon as I can.
