A few of the senators who resigned from the NCAS Student Governing Association last week have a message for the student body: We're not going anywhere.
At least four of the outgoing SGA senators, all of whom have been vocal critics of President Andrew Vigario, said they plan to start their own "student union" to do the job they say the SGA fails to do.
Former senators Anthony Diaz, Eddie Santiago Beck, David Ortega Richard Gutierrez and Karolina Lula said the union will address issues that are important to students.
Diaz said the group is open to any student who wants to get involved and is not afraid to challenge authority.
According to Beck, the first item on their agenda will be addressing the cost of textbooks.
Other issues that the group will address include parking, housing, tuition, safety, and quality of education and student activism.
