(Jan. 18.) - Our Scarlet Raiders took on Rowan's Profs in the Golden Dome, in a heated match-up which sparked the players and the crowd to get feisty.

In the first half, Rutgers jumped to a early 9-2 lead, and by half-time Rutgers still lead, 24-10.

Forward Eni Fageyinbo led the way with 15 points and was helped by Christyal Anderson, who had 11 rebounds in the half.

In the second half, Rutgers continued its control of the game; With five and a half minutes, they had their biggest lead of the game at 46-34. Rowan went on a run to close out the game as they outscored Rutgers 12-4, but they could not overcome the Lady Raiders.

Rutgers won the game by a narrow 50-46.

Stephanie Ross was the key player in the stretch when Rowan threatened, scoring six points and six rebounds.

Coach Kevin Morris gave his take on the game, remarking about beating Rowan by a slim four points: "I am not worried about winning by more. I am not concerned if we win by 20 or if we win by five points. I am happy with the team as they did what we needed to do to get the win."

At the half way point in the run for the NJAC crown, Rutgers is 5-4 in the conference and 10-5 overall, while Rowan's record now stands at 2-7 in the conference and 4-11 overall.
