I want to blast the writer for that ignorant piece on black people and how he thinks they all portray themselves as hustlers. ("Why the Black Community Sucks," Anthony Diaz's What the Hell of the Week, Jan. 30)
Evidently this person has an utter lack of intelligence and is so completely ignorant it is a wonder he is writing in any newspaper.
It is evident that he does have racial issues. Black people are not the only people selling drugs. What about all of the white trash in America (no offense to other white people) who pollute the streets with prostitution and violence?
What about the Latinos that consistently do the same?
I am a Latina and am aware of the disgrace that people in general do to others. But the key word there is "people." It is not one-sided. All races, all genders, all types of people continually contribute to the growing disease that is drugs. It is utterly useless to play the blame game unless you do it judiciously.
It is sad that a school newspaper felt the need to fill a page with utter bullsh** just to fill the space. It seems that this paper is lacking in any real news and prides itself on the gossip that can very well go around by word of mouth.
This is supposed to be an institution of higher education. The school newspaper should support the goal of the students of R-N with informative articles on issues that affect the students.
Yes there is a need to expose all that is serious at times and students can very well achieve that goal without the garbage that continually pollutes this newspaper. It is unfortunate and sad.
