(Feb.1) Our Scarlet Raiders took on the Pioneers from William Paterson in the Golden Dome this past Wednesday, in a nail-biter that ended with Rutgers on top.
In the first ten minutes William Paterson was completely dominating as they went on a 17-4 run which was helped greatly by Willy P's Janell Fabor, who netted eight points.
The Raiders snuck back into the game, hugely due to great play by Christyal Anderson and Eni Fageyinbo, scoring 18 of the last 24 points for the Raiders.
The lead changed hands four times, but by the time the half was done, the Raiders were in control, 23-19. The leading scorer in the half for the Raiders was Eni Fageyinbo, who had eleven points. Stephanie Ross chimed in with two big free throws in the last half minute of the game. Rutgers pulled out the win in a game that was too close for comfort, 48-46.
Coach Kevin Morris stated after the game, "We have to keep executing on offense and do what we are suppose to do and this is what we did as we executed well in the last two wins to help give us the win."
When you hit shots as Rutgers did the last two minutes of the game, you are going to win and that is what they did.
With the win, Rutgers' record is now 8-5 in the NJAC, and 13-7 overall.
