With 8.1 seconds left on the clock, R-N sophomore Chadd Barnes netted two free throws to box out Connecticut College 64-63. He is this week's Observer Men's Player of the Week,
How long have you been rapping?
I have been rapping since I was ten.
What are the common themes in your raps?
Playing ball, shopping, partying.
What was the student reaction to you rapping at Raider Madness?
My teammates were happy that I decided to do it. They were the ones who talked me into it including the coaching staff.
What's the team chemistry like?
As a team, we're young but we are focusing and working hard to get better.
What was it like, coming on the team as a freshman last year?
It was fun. I was able to come into the program and play right away. I had an OK year. It would have been better if we had won the conference and went on to the tournament.
What do you think of this year's freshmen/fresh faces?
The freshmen are pretty good. They have the ability to be good ball players. They need to hit the weight room and get stronger and they will be fine.
Thoughts on Joe Loughran:
He is a very good coach, takes the job very seriously. He has his moments but other than that, he does what he has to do for the team.
Thoughts on the assistant coaches:
They are a great addition to the staff.
If someone were to make a movie of your life, who pro athlete would play you?
Randy Moss.
Coolest female in the whole world:
Nece (Hard Rock Ent.)
Best women's basketball player from Rutgers-Newark:
Sabrina Sanchez.
Are you still bitter about last season's William Paterson game?
Yes. I feel we should have won that game. We were two games away from the NJAC championship. The good thing is we have to play them again this year. - Katie Barry
