On July 11, the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) presented former Rutgers-Newark student Jerome Aumente the SPJ Sigma Delta Chi award at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. The honor is bestowed to outstanding journalists who have had success for many years.
Historic Newark hotel gets face-lift

The historic Robert Treat Hotel, located on 50 Park Place in Downtown Newark, recently renovated the exterior and interior of the hotel.

Arriving at Rutgers-Newark in 1998 as dean of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences department, as well as history professor, Steven J. Diner has garnered a new title since his years as provost of R-N since 2002 - that of chancellor.
With an updated title position, Diner still maintains the same duties and responsibilities as being called the acting provost.
